The Power of Sharing for eCommerce

User submitted reviews are the life blood of online retail stores, they are the digital analog of showroom floor sales staff.  It would be impossible to profitably operate a traditional brick and mortar retail store with limited sales people. The same is true for limited user submitted reviews.   The problem is that consumers are unlikely to leave reviews without the proper, socially motivated, incentives. Most online retailers lack the technical capability, time, or money to develop and groom such an online community. They miss out on the ability to connect with their customers and on the analytics that can be derived from organically created user generated content.  Current solutions to this problem do not address the issue of user motivation. Instead they simply provide retailers with access to libraries of product reviews, effectively alleviating the symptoms of the problem without treating the real condition.   Cid Software is developing a platform that aggregates comments from multiple websites and shares them across the system, thus alleviating retailers' immediate need for product reviews. In addition, the platform will act as a social network, providing the required social motivators needed to generate user submitted content.  We will take on the burden of developing and maintaining a healthy network of reviewers, leaving retailers with the time to concentrate on their core business.
